The 5S Sudan team have continued their successful dissemination activities in Elkhabeer-Hassia Hall, Red Sea University, Port Sudan city, where they have been holding workshops to disseminate the findings and outcomes of the 5S Foundation.

The first workshop aimed to educate groups from the Federal Ministry of Health, the State Ministry of Health and Health Centre Administration staff. There were also attendees from the State Ministry of Social Development and the University of Khartoum. In these workshops, attendees heard presentations on mycetoma from Dr Badral Alnoor and on scabies from Dr Ganawa Eltaib.

During this dissemination workshop, brochures and posters containing research findings and outcomes were distributed to the participants. This created opportunities for interactive discussion between the presenters and contributors. A small exhibition outlining the research findings was also on display within the Elkhabeer complex.

The second workshop was targeted towards media professionals, where attendees included from National and Regional TV, Radio and Broadcasting Houses, the Higher Council for Environment and Natural Resources, the State Ministry of Health and the University of Khartoum.

The third workshop was held at Alshaheid Mohammed Ibrahim Hall, Red Sea University-Port Sudan city, with the objective of disseminating the 5S project research findings on both Mycetoma and scabies. The findings of the research on Mycetoma and media advocacy were presented by Dr. Elfaig, prepared by Dr. Osama and Badraldeen. The findings of the research on scabies were presented by Dr. Hala El Malik. Certain groups from professionals Radio (national and community) and other broadcasting together with contributors and participants from different institutions were purposely selected for this workshop.

All workshops received wide coverage from social media platforms, National TV, Community Radio and the Red Sea State Radio.

The content from these workshops appears for three consecutive days in Sudanese TV, and the 5S Team were able to discuss research findings live on air on Radio Community. Discussions on the findings of the research into scabies were also discussed live on air by Dr Hala.

This successful dissemination of the findings of the 5S Foundation is incredibly important in raising public awareness of mycetoma and scabies and demonstrates the impactful and hard work conducted by the 5S Sudan Team. Congratulations to the team, and we look forwards to hearing more!
