Pilot Community Survey
Over twelve days from 31st August 2024, a pilot community survey was conducted in the pilot health center, Tiya located in the Sodo district, south of Addis Ababa, in the Eastern Gurage Ethiopia Regional State. The health center has six kebeles in its catchment area and the survey was conducted within these. The aim was to assess the knowledge, attitude and practice of the community towards chronic wounds. The survey was preceded by appropriate training of data collection methodologies, including research ethics and included supervisors of the data collectors, head of the district health office (Sodo), NTD focal from Sodo District health office, the head and representatives from the Tiya health center including the NTD focal contact, the coordinator of the health extension program and health extension workers . A total of 200 randomly selected residents from the six kebeles were surveyed.
Assessing Knowledge, Attitude, and Practice (KAP) in Chronic Wound Management
To assess the Knowledge, Attitude, and Practice (KAP) of Health Professionals on chronic wound management, a baseline survey was undertaken at the Tiva health center. A total of 15 health professionals participated in this important survey. The insights gained will help us identify current knowledge levels, attitudes towards chronic wound management, and practices in place among healthcare providers.
